Here I am, with a couple weeks' worth. Sorry I've been neglecting these threads; I'll try to shape up!

*The Incredible Hulk (2008) 9/10
I enjoyed it a lot, maybe even more than Iron Man. There were some creepy moments, and even a little scary when the first shot of The Hulk is shown. For a superhero movie, it's the top of the line. I am not into the action/adventure/superhero thing nearly as much these days as I once was, but this one and Iron Man have helped raise my enthusiasm.

*The Apartment (1960) 8/10
Enjoyable, intelligent, and surprisingly deep for a romantic film. The characters were three-dimensional, the story was interesting, the acting was excellent of course (Jack Lemmon & Shirley Maclaine), and although I don't think it's going to be a favorite of mine, I liked it very much.

Men in Black (1997) 9/10
Feels like an old friend; I used to rewatch this one a lot. I still find it funny & entertaining.

*Death to Smoochy (2002) 6/10
I did laugh out loud several times, but ultimately the film came up short. It seems like it was a good idea that never really came together. There were too many subplots and too many characters, and it felt like they never did know what to do with Robin Williams' character. Worth watching, but I probably won't want to watch it again.

*The Elephant Man (1980) 9/10
Very good version of a familiar story. I've found Joseph Merrick's story (named "John" in the movie) fascinating since I was a kid, like many people have. The fact that the man had such a beautiful, loving soul underneath his badly deformed exterior is fascinating. I liked the movie very much, and I liked how it touched on the idea that when Dr. Treves introduced John to London society and all those people came to see him, in a sense John was still being put on display like a freak at the carnival.

The Poseidon Adventure (1972) 9/10
Melodramatic, over-the-top, totally 70s, and awesome. Great film all around. Classic (and my buddy petrock's favorite film of all time, IIRC).

Poseidon (2006) 6/10
Has some good effects and was lots of fun in the theater, but there were no characters that were memorable enough to stay with me, even with the great Andre Braugher and Richard Dreyfuss in the cast. We saw this in the theater and I'd retained so little of it that this felt like a first viewing, two years later - yet I can even tell you the names of the characters in the original movie (admittedly I've seen that one 7 or 8 times over the years).

When Harry Met Sally (1989) 9/10
Very funny and touching, and one of the very few romantic comedies I like.

The Deer Hunter (1978) 9/10
An intense and brooding film, one of my all-time favorites. The war could be any war really; it's about friendship and how traumatic events can change people.

Fargo (1996) 9/10
Another favorite; I love everything about Fargo. My favorite Coen Bros. film and one of my top 20, if not top 10.

*Hercules Against the Moon Men (1964) 3/10 (movie) 7/10 (MST3K commentary)
MST3K version. The movie itself was mildly entertaining; the commentary was hilarious in places but not one of their best episodes.
