Some friends & I were having drinks last night and somehow the topic of Bruce Campbell came up. One guy didn't know who he was and hadn't seen
any of the Evil Dead pictures!! 
So tomorrow we're
all getting together & watching the whole set. Gonna be sweeeeet........

When the first chick gets turned into a demon, and they throw her in the cellar door, she pounds upwards on that door with all her demon-might while the one
dude is on top of it trying to keep it shut. After some extensive trying, her efforts......slowly......diminish.....until she finally stops. There's an
energy arc there that made me think of, well, something else.
Anyone who owns it, watch the sequence in question, you'll see what I mean. I tried to pass for nothing, but my dreams gave me away |

As we were set to start Evil Dead II, my friend noticed that the front of the DVD box featured a "three-star rating from Roger Ebert" and he
thought it was funny that anyone would bother to use that mildly positive rating to promote the film. I told him that when Ebert panned David Lynch's
Lost Highway, Lynch had new promotional posters made for the film that said something like "Roger Ebert hated this movie - one more reason to see
it." I then looked at the Evil Dead II DVD case, and saw that the DP was Peter Deming, who also shot Lost Highway.
Lost Highway has some of the best cinematography I've ever seen, and to have both that AND Evil Dead II on his resume makes Deming uber-awesome. Wow! I tried to pass for nothing, but my dreams gave me away |
